Nicholas Hendershot is a Forest Ecologist at The Nature Conservancy in California. His research primarily centers on assessing the effects of climate change and the increasing severity of wildfires on forests and biodiversity in the Sierra Nevada. Currently, his work involves employing biodiversity modeling, remote sensing, and machine learning to steer forest restoration initiatives and monitor their impact on wildlife and forest ecosystems.

Prior to joining The Nature Conservancy in 2023, Nicholas completed a postdoctoral fellowship and PhD at Stanford University. There, he utilized both fieldwork and modeling techniques to evaluate the impact of land use and climate change on bird populations in Costa Rica.
